Hold Down Rolls Cracking?

Posted by on July 13, 2010

REDCO™ 750 & 70A DUAL HARDNESS HOLD DOWN ROLLS

A customer was having a big concern over the aluminum hubs cracking on their existing R & K hold down rolls. The hubs had a tendency to crack apart well before the urethane cover even had a chance to wear. As these rolls are solid and there are 5 rolls per line shaft, replacing each one was time consuming and expensive.

Getting away from the aluminum hub was the first step. Using a keyed Redco 750 hub and a Redco 70A cover was a simple yet very effective solution. On the last visit to the mill both the Maintenance Superintendant and the Maintenance Manager were ecstatic about the difference the newly designed rolls had made. No replacements were required and the rolls could now be used right up until the cover wears of the hub.

Redco™ Plastics can outlast traditional materials such as rubber, wood and some metals by up to 20 times. Call us today about your application, we can help save you part replacement costs and downtime expenses.
